If there is one thing that many photographers struggle with, it is managing their photo library, especially in a way that makes it easy to find the specific image you are looking for. Well, for Adobe Lightroom users, if you decide to install this new Excire Search plugin, things will be much easier.
Excire Search for Lightroom is a plug-in that uses powerful image recognition technology on your own computer to analyze and track your images. If you want to find some pictures of mountains, just enter “Mountain” and the system will pull out all matching pictures in your gallery. No tags, no keywords, nothing: you just install the plug-in, let it analyze your library (approximately 1 hour for every 10,000 images), and searches thereafter will be almost instantaneous.
Unlike similar services that required you to upload your entire library to various cloud services in the past, Excire Search is completely independent of your machine, and there is no need to upload images anywhere else. There are even multiple ways to search for the image you are looking for.
In CT mode, you only need to enter the type of object you are looking for, such as a bird, tree, or blue bicycle. The system will then extract any matching images from your gallery.
The second option EX mode allows you to select an image similar to the image you are looking for. So the image of your dog, or your aunt. You select an image, and the system will pull out all the images that match the image in the library.
One caveat of this plugin is that you need at least 10,000 images in your library before it can take effect. However, if you take pictures on a regular basis, you will know that from a macro perspective, 10,000 is not that much.
Excire Search is not even that expensive, you can try it before buying it, and enjoy a 15-day free trial. If you give it a try and decide to buy, the full version will cost approximately $69. If you are interested, you can get all the information on the Excire Search website.
