HOW TO START A BLOG WITH HOSTGATOR

If you have the urge to create your own website, you want to build your own cyberspace platform, but you don’t know where to start, or feel that it’s a patent for IT and programmers, and you are discouraged. This article is definitely for you. . Before I start, what I want to say is: building your own website is not as complicated as you think, as long as you want to do it, it is actually very simple.

Just follow my steps and you will easily create a blog that belongs to you。

Step 1: Register the domain

A domain name is how people find you online. If you want to stand out, you need a good person. You want it to be memorable, but unfortunately, most short domain names (such as “google.com”) are already registered.

Think about some names, something that is very personal to you may come up. But remember, if you use something really crazy and it’s very communicative, you might be fascinated by it!

Hostgator has a tool that can help you find domains. Just enter your preference and click “Search” and it will tell you if the domain is available.

Registering a domain name in one company and hosting you in another company is perfectly fine. However, if you do this, you will be responsible for things like maintaining DNS records, which is the complexity of the server administrator level. By registering the domain name in the same location as the hosting, Hostgator can handle everything for you.

After selecting the domain, you may want to check the domain privacy protection. Generally, when you register a domain name, you must tell ICANN who you are, and anyone can check who owns the domain name, including your address. If you use Hostgator’s domain privacy protection, your information will be replaced with Hostgator’s information. It is still your domain name, but no one can look up your personal information.

Follow the instructions on the screen to register the domain as long as possible (hosting is always yearly). Before the term expires, you need to renew to continue using the domain.

Step 2: Select the host

Building your own website may sound like a big step, but in fact anyone can do it. Companies like Hostgator will make the settings as simple as possible.

The first step is to choose a hosting package. Hosting is the space on the web server. If any, you will also store all text, images and videos in it.

Hostgator has several shared hosting plans. Shared hosting means that your space will be on the same server as other people’s space, instead of owning a complete server yourself-like renting an apartment instead of renting an entire building. (Who knows, maybe one day you will need the entire building, but from the beginning, just a few rooms will do.)

Sometimes, deciding which package to choose is tricky, but there is no need to overuse it. Register for the lowest price package. Remember, if you need SSL or want to create a second blog, you can always upgrade later.

Hostgator’s most popular plan is their Baby Plan because it allows you to run multiple blogs. However, if this is your first online attempt, then hatching a Hatchling Plan is sufficient.

Hostgator’s plan comes with unlimited storage space and email addresses. You will also find that they include a drag-and-drop website builder (you may have heard of it called “what you see is what you get” or “what you see is what you get”), so you can build your own website without the help of a web designer . You can even get Google Adwords and Yahoo/Bing credits so you can promote your blog.

After selecting, just click the “Buy now” button and follow the instructions on the screen.

Step 3: Installing WordPress

There are many blog CMS options, but most people in the world choose WordPress. In fact, 1 out of every 5 websites uses WordPress, and when people say blogs, they are usually WordPress. Most importantly, WordPress is free!

Open your email and find the welcome email sent to you by Hostgator. You will see a link to your cPanel (this is short for “Control Panel”). Log in to cPanel using the username and password provided.

Look for the “Quick Install” button and click on it. Then, find “Top Installs” and you will see WordPress at the top.

Click on “WordPress” and fill out the form. You can change these details later, but please do not use the same username as the cPanel username, this is important (because two username/password combinations are more secure than one).

When you are ready, click “Install WordPress”.

That’s it! You have established a website and installed blogging software. All you have to do now is to consider a topic for your first blog post. Tell the world what inspired you to start blogging?

Blogging is an amazing adventure, good luck and enjoy the journey!
